THE DEBATING CLUB welcomes you to come and spend just an hour and a half each weekend practicing your spoken English in highly communicative and interactive setting. This is not a class, but there is a structure to a DEBATE. Each week we start with a discussion and progress to choose a topic on which we have a formal debate about. There is a side proposing and opposing this motion (topic) and there are questioners, judges, a timekeeper and a chairman. This club focuses on improving spoken communication and listening skills in English and we are also privilaged to have another native speaker (Andrew) regularly attending and helping to organise. We learn additional skills that are very important in life such as justifying an argument, rebuttal, summarising information, and interrogation. ALL IN ENGLISH ...AND ALL FREE... ..This House doesn't believe people should have to pay money to have fun and debating interesting topics.
